Shell STEP is a UK-wide programme that places bright and ambitious undergraduates into small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or community organisations to undertake specific projects.
How does it work?
The programme will help you to gain cost effective business solutions by providing you with a highly skilled undergraduate with fresh ideas and new skills for very little cost. The undergraduate will work on a project of your choice for between 6 and 12 weeks during the summer.
In the past, Shell STEP students have helped companies to:
- set up new IT systems
- develop new marketing plans
- examine the feasibility of a new product or system
- design new websites or company literature
- carry out health and safety or environmental audits
Participation also provides additional benefits such as extending networking opportunities, developing strong links with academic expertise and regional press coverage.
How much will it cost me?
The total cost of an 8-week project is about 1600. You will be invoiced for the total cost of your placement student by your local Shell STEP agent.
Do I qualify?
Shell Step is available to small and medium-sized businesses and community and social enterprises with 250 employees or less. You must have the space and resources that your student will need and be able to assign a member of your team to oversee the project.
How do I find out more?
