Introduction


This is an 18 month research project funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and carried out by investigators from the University of Westminster and the Newcastle University.

The overall aim of the project is to investigate the influence of location-based factors in youth drinking behaviours. We anticipate that the findings from the research may be used to inform central government policies towards planning, alcohol policy and criminal justice. They will also be useful for local policy makers in planning, licensing, enforcement, youth services and health.
