Research Support Network

Welcome to the

Research Support Network

The SABE Research Support Network was established to provide general support and networking opportunities for new and emerging researchers within the School of Architecture and the Built Environment. The network provides a formal structure for junior researchers to meet with other junior and senior researchers, to share their skills, develop new skills and develop collaborative projects. We hope the network will help to foster a stronger research environment within the school, leading to more collaborative research applications, more successful publications, increased flexibility across projects and disciplines and a greater share of skills, halting the drain of bright and emerging scholars.

Building reflection
The SABE RSN has eight principle aims:

1) To provide a point of contact for new staff (both research and academic with an interest in research) and research students;

2) To disseminate information on scholarships, funding applications, calls for papers, grants, seminars, and workshops;

3) To formalise and provide a structure to existing formal/informal networks, thus bringing together researchers working on compatible projects;

4) To identify spare researcher capacity within the School and match this with new and emerging research opportunities School-wide;

5) To share skills and knowledge across the many disciplines within the School and, thus, build the capacity of the School's research base;

6) To organise monthly workshops to be conducted by in-house and external speakers;

7) To establish networks of expertise to better enable the transfer of knowledge across the department;

8) To support emerging researchers in applying for grant applications, and securing publications.
