Biography

Panagiotis Dontis-Charitos joined WBS in 2010 and serves as Senior Lecturer in Finance. He holds a BSc in Finance and Auditing, an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management and a PhD in Finance. He has worked as a visiting lecturer and teaching assistant at Cass Business School, delivering various modules in the area of finance at the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate levels. In addition, he has worked as a stock analyst and sales analyst at brokerage firms in Greece.

Teaching

Panagiotis currently teaches at the undergraduate and MBA programmes. Specifically, he is the module leader of the Fundamentals of Finance (UG), Financial Information (UG) and tutor of International Financial Management (UG). He is also a member of the team delivering the multidisciplinary “Identifying and evaluating value to the organisation” module (MBA), delivering the part on financial risk management and derivatives.

Research

His main research interests are in the areas of Money, Banking and Financial Institutions and Markets. His current research focuses on financial conglomerates. More specifically, it covers the bank-insurance interface and its effect on the risk-return profiles of financial intermediaries and on the financial industry.
