Biography

Dr Harry Thapar is a Principal Lecturer in Finance at Westminster Business School. He joined the University of Westminster after having worked as a Treasurer and manager in a major Japanese Citibank and as a Chief markets analyst/strategist for a US company.

He has over twenty years combined experience in the financial services industry and in University lecturing, teaching MBA and MSc Finance level audiences in the following speciality areas of finance: corporate finance (mergers and acquistions), financial derivatives, equity portfolio management, fixed income investments, portfolio management and risk management. He is Course leader of the MSc Investment and Risk Finance.

Teaching

Harry currently lectures on portfolio management and derivatives on the Finance Masters programmes.

Research

Harry's areas of research interest are portfolio management and derivatives; understanding aspects of behavioural finance in capital markets trading. 

Consultancy and professional practice

He offers financial consultancy services on portfolio management, capital markets and trading. He is a senior reviewer of the Derivatives and Investments workbooks as well as an author of a number of  investment related workbooks produced by the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securites and Investment).
