European Language Portfolio for the Deaf and Hearing-Impaired (Deaf Port)

EACEA Logo The Department of Modern and Applied Languages is one of several European partners working on Deaf Port, a project funded by the European Commission to develop and evaluate language learning resources for the hearing impaired.

The project aims to enhance their motivation to develop, extend and diversify their language skills; help them to reflect on their objectives, ways of and success in language learning; developing their capacity for independent learning; address learning needs in the most comprehensive way, providing suitable format and adaptation of descriptions; and introduce commonly recognized standards and ensuring transparency and coherence in language learning.
