Antonio Borraccino has a first degree in Modern Languages from the Polytechnic of Central London (1989) and an MA in Linguistics and Translation from the University of Westminster (1995).
Since graduating Antonio has developed a keen interest in Information Technology for the purpose of serving the language learning community. In 1995 he lead a Bureau LINGUA funded project to produce ItalianoInterattivo the first interactive multimedia course for learning Italian. In 1998, several years before the term Web 2.0 was coined, he published Feedback on Steroids (Call, Culture and the Language Curriculum - Springer 1998) in which he argued for the development of web resources where learners and tutors generate the material. Since 2003, when he became Microsoft Certified Professional, he has has been developing language learning & authoring applications commercially.
He has taught at the University of Westminster since 1992. Currently he teaches technical translation on the postgraduate program and he is the e-Learning coordinator of the Department of Modern Languages.
