The relationship between employee and employer is fundamental to understanding a wide range of employee behaviours including discretionary effort, well-being, and intention to quit. This presentation will consider the extent to which research on the psychological contract can help us understand this relationship and account for how changes in the psychological contract change employee affect, cognition and behaviour.
