Majella Byrne completed her BA and MA in Psychology at University College Dublin. She completed an MSc in Applied Statistics at Napier University, Edinburgh 1998 and a PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2000. Majella spent four years working at the University of Aarhus, Denmark as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Epidemiology. Majella completed her training as a Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry in 2006.

Her research interests include the epidemiology of risk factors for psychosis, early detection and intervention in psychosis, CBT for psychosis.
