Research interests
Cognitive neuropsychology and psychopharmacology of memory: cognitive deficits associated with normal and abnormal ageing, psychopharmacological models of dementia, cognitive enhancers, cognitive effects of traumatic brain injury and hydrocephalus, executive functioning, imagery and emotional aspects of memory.
General information
Trudi graduated from the University of Sussex with a BA(Hons) in Applied Psychology and a PhD in Experimental Psychology with Professor Jenny Rusted investigating ‘The role of the cholinergic system in human memory and attention.’ Her post-doctoral research position at the Psychosocial Oncology Group at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School investigated the cognitive effects of hormonal treatments in men with prostate cancer and women with breast cancer. Trudi is currently involved in research working with patients with traumatic brain injuries at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and patients with hydrocephalus and patients with memory impairments at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with Dr Catherine Loveday and Dr Jo Iddon. She also researches patients with specific neuropsychological deficits and has recently become involved in research using virtual reality software to assess executive functioning with Dr Ashok Jansari at the University of East London. Trudi continues to pursue her interests in psychopharmacology including the role of nicotine as a cognitive enhancer. Trudi is a member of the psychobiology section of the BPS, a member of the University Health Psychology Research Group and a member of the University Research Ethics Committee. Trudi joined the University of Westminster in September, 2004 and teaches both neuroscience and cognitive neuroscience on the BSc Cognitive Science and the MSc in Applied Cognitive Neuroscience degrees at the Harrow campus.
