General information
Chantal is a Chartered Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. Her area of expertise is in Occupational Psychology, Psychology of Counselling, Feminist Psychology, Psychology of Education, employability skills, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and presentation skills.
Awards
In March 2006 a university-wide award for 'Excellence in Teaching & Learning' and in 2005 Chantal was awarded the Elizabeth de Lowerntal Memorial Prize.
Research Interests
Chantal's research focuses on aspects of Occupational Psychology. In particular exploring the phenomenon of Workplace Relationships/Romances and exploring the impact both psychological and physical of being a sex worker in the table dancing industry. Her research methodology is predominantly qualitative in nature.
Her research continues to generate media attention nationally (e.g. People Management, Sunday Herald, the Guardian, the Independent, the Daily Mail, the Evening Standard, People Management Magazine on BBC Radio 4's 6 O'Clock News, the BBC World Service Europe Today) and internationally (USA Today, ABC Radio Australia and Wales at Work) and has appeared as an expert on workplace relationships on ITV's London Talking, LoveGeist report 2010. Activities
Chantal's business experience has covered a variety of sectors including Media, Hospitality, Sales, PR and Military. As an external consultant Chantal further specialises in the development and delivery of executive workshops with a focus on leadership, teambuilding, culture change, recruitment practises, customer services and presentation skills. Recently Chantal has been working on the "life skills programme" for the charity Quintessentiallysoho, the House of St. Barnabas advising on employability skills.
