SSHL Research Enterprise Knowledge Transfer Sub-Committee

The SSHL Research Enterprise Knowledge Transfer Sub-Committee reports to the School Board and directly to committees of Academic Council where appropriate. Reports will also be submitted to the School Executive Group to inform strategic and operational management.

Terms of Reference

  1. To foster internally and to support the external presentation of a vibrant research culture within the School.
  2. To monitor support for Research Degree students across all areas of the School and to report on compliance with University policies, Codes of Practice, regulations and processes for research.
  3. To monitor and review progress against targets on the development of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).
  4. To enhance the standing of the School and University through exploitation of intellectual property, both for esteem and income generation purposes.
  5. To support and promote the direction the development of interdisciplinary platforms across School boundaries to develop feasible proposals and funding bids.
  6. To maintain an overview of the synergies between research and teaching and support cross-fertilisation between them at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  7. To review data and outcomes reports on research activity across the School, including those produced for internal audit and external audit such as HESA, QAA, RAE and Research Excellence Framework purposes.
