Introduction
The BSc in Photography and Digital Imaging at the University of Westminster is a unique course in Europe. By combining the study of technical, creative and scientific aspects of photography, it equips students with the skills needed for a wide range of professional photographic careers.
The esteem in which the course is held is shown by the fact that in the past few years, over 90% of graduates have found employment by the end of the year of graduation. As well as commercial and editorial photography, graduates have gone on to work in forensic and medical imaging and digital re-touching.
The Imaging Technology Research Group has been involved in many of the key publications in the field and maintains close working relationships with professional bodies across the industry. Graduates of this course are eligible to apply for the award of Graduate Imaging Scientist from the Royal Photographic Society.
Who is the course for?
In the digital era photography is becoming a much more technical profession. There are very few courses that provide students with the background knowledge to truly master modern imaging systems. If you seek a deeper understanding of the processes involved, this course is for you. Students will have a technical or scientific background and a desire to explore the fundamental principles of imaging.
