Vincent Porter is interested in contemporary broadcasting policy in Europe and the United Kingdom, the impact of copyright legislation on contemporary cultural policy and British cinema history.
His publications include British Cinema in the 1950s: The Decline of Deference (2003 with Sue Harper), Beyond the Berne Convention: Copyright, Broadcasting and the Single European Market (1991), and Pluralism, Politics and the Marketplace: The Regulation of German Broadcasting (1991 with Suzanne Hasselbach).
