Background

Julie Whitehouse is a Principal Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences and the Course Leader for the MSci Herbal Medicine /and the BSc Honours Health Sciences: Herbal Medicine degrees.

She has worked as a practising medical herbalist for 18 years.

Current research interests include:

Effectiveness and efficacy of herbal medicines in the treatment of mood affected disorders

Efficacy of Skullcap extracts in reducing anxiety and promoting wellbeing supervising Director of studies PhD student (Scholarship Westminster Institute of Wellbeing and Health)

Effects of Caffeine and herbal extracts on Heart Rate and Blood pressure
