September 2012 applicants

The application process for September 2012 entry will open on 10 April via our Application form webpage.

We prioritise first year students (postgraduate and undergraduate), who currently live outside a 25-mile radius of their campus. Within this group, rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is important to apply as soon as you are able to.

We also prioritise students with disabilities or medical conditions who can provide evidence from a specialist that clearly demonstrates that, in our opinion, a place in halls is essential for the continuation of their studies.

We also reserve a number of rooms for continuing students, which are allocated on a purely first-come, first-served basis.

Can I apply for a place in halls?

Providing that you have been made an offer of a place on a full-time course and you have accepted this offer as your firm choice, you will be able to apply as soon as the process opens. It makes no difference whether your offer is conditional or unconditional – you will be treated in the same way in the allocation process.

If you are a continuing student, you will be able to apply as long as you are studying on a full-time course.

Students returning from a placement year will have to wait until their progression is confirmed by their School Registry Office.

Which halls can I apply for?

We have a brand new hall of residence called 'Student Court @ Wembley' that will be our student village for first year undergraduates based at our central London campuses.

Students going into their first year at the Harrow campus will be able to choose either Harrow Hall or Student Court, whilst continuing students at Harrow campus will only be able to apply for Harrow Hall.

Postgraduate students in central London have the choice of Marylebone Hall or Wigram House.

Continuing students can apply for rooms at Marylebone Hall and International House.

When will I find out the outcome?

The date of notification varies - it will depend on when you applied for the accommodation.

If you are made an offer of a place, you will need to return your signed contract and pay your deposit of £250 online.

Conditional applicants will have a deadline of just after results day and unconditional applicants will usually have a deadline of two weeks, although this can vary.

Please note that the acceptance procedure for Student Court will differ from the other Halls, so it is very important that you read your offer carefully and respond as directed.

I will be a first year at Cavendish/Marylebone/Regent Campus - can I apply only for Student Court @ Wembley?

Yes, you should only apply for Student Court @ Wembley.

We believe that our brand new hall is the best place to house our first years, so we are reserving it exclusively for them. Having all our first years together will ensure that it is easier for students to get to know people.

The hall is only two tube stops from Baker Street (Marylebone Campus) and three from Great Portland Street and Regent’s Park (Cavendish Campus and Regent Campus).

Although it is the only option in your first year, you will be able to apply for a place at Marylebone Hall or International House in your second and third years.
