The International Student Welcome Programme

Moving to a university in another country can be both exciting and frightening. The University of Westminster organises an International Student Welcome Programme for students new to the UK which will help you  to meet new people and learn how things are done in the UK. This is an essential part of your studies, as it will help you to adjust to a new and different system.

Accommodation for the Welcome Programme

Students can stay together for the Welcome Programme in Marylebone Hall of Residence for £26 per night and you can book to arrive early into Welcome Programme accommodation.

All students staying at Beaumont Court for the rest of the year should not book Welcome Programme accommodation as your halls contract will start on 11 September 2011.  However, If you book Welcome Programme accommodation and are then offered a room at Beaumont Court we will refund your Welcome Programme accommodation payment.

If you will be moving into a hall of residence for the rest of the year then your contract will not start until Saturday 17 September (apart from students staying at Beaumont Court).  You will have a gap of two nights between the end of the Welcome Programme and the date your contract starts and you will have to book early arrival in to your hall of residence. This means that we will move you from Maryelbone Hall of Residence to your permenant hall of residence where you will stay for two nights before your contract starts.

You can book early arrival on our online booking form at the bottom of this page.  The cost of early arrival is different if you are staying at Marylebone which is £52 for two nights and the other halls which are £43 for two nights.

Coach transfers to halls of residence

If you are staying in a hall of residence for the rest of the year  then we will transfer you from Marylebone Hall of residence to your permanent hall of residence. Coach Transfers will be early (8am) on Thursday 15 September.

Some course enrolment and induction sessions will be in the morning on Thursday 15 September. If you have an enrolment or induction session on  Thursday morning and you are worried that you may miss it you should book accommodation at your permanent hall of residence for the Welcome  programme so you don't have to be transferred on Thursday morning.  The online booking form only allows you to book Welcome Programme Accommodation at the Marylebone Hall, if you want to book to stay at another hall you will need to contact
 summeraccommodation@westminster.ac.uk
